Bio
Kobanova is a southern rock band founded out of Athens, Georgia, in 2018. Now based in Atlanta, the group is led by founding members Jimmy Riemer (vocals), Wes Bacastow (guitar) and Chris Dickson (keys/organ), and the current lineup features longtime friends Andrew Ford (drums), Owen Eaton (bass), and Clay Darby (guitar). Kobanova delivers a sound rooted deeply in the red clay of Georgia, blending the soulful grit of southern rock with the narrative depth of modern folk rock. They are known for their energetic live performances which often include guest appearances from soloists and horns sections.

Heading into their 8th year, this sextet is establishing itself as an unwavering piece of the southern rock landscape. Their music boasts a blend of classic guitar riffs, vocal harmonies, and a tight rhythm section which keeps the sound fresh and contemporary. The band has become well known locally with their annual featured set in the Virginia-Highlands 'Porchfest' music event and headlined rooms throughout Georgia including The 40 Watt Club, Smiths Olde Bar and Aisle 5. Their consistent growth locally and online has blossomed into direct support opportunities with touring rock acts including The Dirty Guv'nahs, The Vegabonds, and Robert Jon & The Wreck as well as placements in regional music festivals.
Since releasing their self titled album in 2023, Kobanova spent time on the road making appearances in 7 different states for public and private performances. Changing gears in 2025, the group focused on writing and recording at Argyle Records (Atlanta) and delivered their "Ballroom" EP in August 2025 which has already garnered over 300k streams. The guys are finishing up the last few tracks for their 2nd full length album releasing in 2026 which they plan to support with a concentrated tour across their home state of Georgia.
